I write to seek your financial contribution by way of donation to assist Mrs Jenny Simms attend the 2007 International RYLA Conference in America.
Jenny is the only Australian to be chosen as a Counsellor to attend this year's RYLA program.
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is an intensive training program for youth ages 14-30. Talented young people from around the world will attend this year's seminar organised by Rotary International's governing body.
The RYLA program enables young people to debate issues of professional responsibility and human relations, improve leadership and communication skills, learn about business and institutions, and meet Rotarians from around the world while interacting and make friends.
For young adults, RYLA provides the opportunity to refine skills and explore pertinent topics with peers and elders. For Rotarians, RYLA offers the chance to help develop leaders, share valuable expertise, and bridge the gap between generations.
Over the past 7 years Jenny has made a significant contribution as Facilitator, Co- Facilitator and Counsellor to the Tasmanian RYLA program held annually by the Rotary Club of Ulverstone West.
The opportunity to attend the RYLA 2007 Event presents Jenny with the challenge to Counsel international participants throughout the program's duration, and to bring that wealth of experience back to Australia and Tasmania so it may be shared with young people keen to become the future leaders in our community
